Debit Cards

Debit Cards look like a credit card but operates like cash or a personal check. Money is deducted from your Share Draft (Checking) Account, up to the amount you have available.

Debit Cards are a fast and convenient way to access your money 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There are three ways to use your Debit Card.

It can be used at an ATM to get cash. Withdrawals can be made from either your checking or savings account. Through the credit union CO-OP network, there are many free Shared ATMs across the United States. Find the free ATMs near you with the Shared ATM Locator.

Your card can be used to make Point-of-Sale transactions (Debit). For example, when you go to a grocery store, restaurant or gas station you can use it for purchases. These transactions will be debited from your Share Draft Account and will require a Personal Identification Number (PIN).

It can be used anywhere MasterCard is accepted (Credit). The merchant will treat the transaction exactly like they would treat a credit card transaction. The difference is that the amount of the transaction will be debited from your Share Draft Account and does not require a PIN. There is not a monthly bill or credit card statement to worry about. The transactions will show on your monthly Share Draft Account statement.

Debit Card Security

Your debit card will be monitored, just like a credit card, for security by Fiserv (partnered with Port Arthur Community Federal Credit Union). If the debit card company notices unusual activity on your card, Fiserv will call you to ensure the usage is being done by you. This, hopefully, will be an early warning if you do indeed have fraud happening on your account. Call 800-992-3808 from the phone number listed on the primary
member's account.
Enter the first 6 numbers on the card. You'll then confirm it's
correct.
Enter the last 4 numbers on the card. You'll then confirm it's
correct.
Enter the birth date of the primary member: mm/dd/yyyy.
Enter the phone number, including the area code.
Enter your new PIN. You'll then confirm by entering it again.
Your new PIN is set.

Use of your card in a foreign country or outside your normal routine is one of the security triggers for PACFCU cards and your transactions could be denied as a possible security violation. Credit Cards

Credit cards come in handy for daily purchases, emergencies, and building up credit history. PACFCU credit cards are MasterCard Regular, MasterCard Platinum, EMV chipped cards with incredibly low rates.
